Energy-neutral heat & cold protection
If you want to better protect yourself against cold or heat, structural or technical measures such as insulation, new heating or air conditioning are usually recommended. However, there are other very effective measures that can be implemented quickly and easily and also have a positive effect on energy consumption, the indoor climate and building health.
The basis for this are innovative materials that make use of physical mechanisms for their effect: reflection and emission, radiant heat, capillary action and evaporative cooling.
We are your specialist for such materials and will be happy to advise you on customized solutions for your specific heating or cooling problem.
You want to see concrete examples of solutions very quickly? Here are 10 very specific projects: Project descriptions
Benefits
The advantages of our materials are obvious: without consuming energy themselves, they have a positive influence on heating and cooling requirements and protect people and infrastructure. They sustainably reduce heating and cooling costs and renovation expenses, and are easy to use without any technical or major construction work. This saves on building materials, manufacturing energy and energy for use, while also protecting the environment – and at the same time increasing people's sense of well-being!

Interior blinds in old buildings to combat heat stress
Although the landlord had already installed thick fabric blinds in our kitchen, it was unbearably hot in summer. That's why we had the blind fabric replaced with reflective fabric from Cool Ants Germany. The effect was immediately noticeable and measurable: it was up to 10°C cooler in the kitchen than in the comparative room with the old blinds.
Cool roof coating on supermarket makes AC redundant
A supermarket owner in France wanted to test whether he could keep supermarkets cool without the use of air conditioning. A comparative test in the summer of 2023 showed that with a cooling coating on the roof, it was 7°C cooler inside than in the comparison supermarket. This meant an inside temperature of 23°C at an outside temperature of 33°C – making it possible to operate without air conditioning at the height of summer.
Holiday apartments without AC, Algarve, Portugal
The imaginative and lavishly designed house with several holiday apartments was planned by the owner and architect Jan Krielaars from the outset without air conditioning. The necessary heat protection was to be ensured by a ClimateCoating facade coating. Almost 20 years later, the villa is still in its vibrant colors and without air conditioning, and is celebrated by guests as a jewel.
The project
Robust hotel facade right by the sea
The huge concrete block from the 1960s stands unprotected directly on the beach in Tel Aviv. Constant damage to the facade due to moisture, salt and wind was the result. The management considered the semi-annual repair work to be unreasonable and had the entire building painted with ClimateCoating in 2021. Everyone is now congratulating themselves on the decision, because not a single facade repair has been necessary since then.
Cooling garments for elderly care
“If I may, I would keep the vest immediately.”
That was the conclusion of a geriatric nurse after just two days of testing one of our cooling vests, worn under his usual work clothes in the hot attic of a nursing home.
Although he was skeptical at first and found the feeling of wearing it “strange,” his impression quickly became clear:
“Sweat only on the face, body completely relaxed, no sweat running as usual when caring for residents. So definitely thumbs up, I wouldn't have expected that. Because you actually still have more clothes on.”
And the other colleagues who tested it were also very impressed. The nursing home will be adding cooling clothing to its shopping list for next summer. Occupational safety and health protection couldn't be easier.
A quality surprise for the painter
As part of the renovation of a 1930s house, the customers wanted to have the newly insulated facade and a new extension coated with ClimateCoating. The reason for this was their concern about excessive heat build-up in summer and rapid algae growth due to the high level of insulation. The painter was very skeptical, but allowed himself to be persuaded to try it. His conclusion: “A paint that is excellent to work with and goes a long way”. He hadn't experienced anything like it in a long time. So the customer is highly satisfied and so is the painter.
Save heating energy by painting the inside
The youth room was painted on time with the beginning of the heating season with ClimateCoating climate-friendly paint in different gray tones. In earlier winters, the heating was always set to 21-22°C. Since the painting, it has been set to 18°C and yet there is a cozy feeling of warmth in the room.
Based on the rule of thumb “6% heating energy is saved for every degree of heating reduction”, a saving of over 20% was achieved here with a small amount of materials and with personal contribution. In the same house - a prefabricated house from the 1980s - similar effects were already observed last winter on the ground floor in the large living/dining area.
Heat protection coating for storage containers
The area of application for us is that we will be storing goods (batteries) in the containers, which must not exceed a certain temperature and at the same time must not be stored within our depots. Accordingly, there are only two options: either a climate-controlled container or a coated container. We have opted for a combination of the two (air conditioning only as an emergency solution as soon as the temperature limit is reached). Thanks to the coating, however, we can now probably do without the mobile air conditioning units in the containers. We continuously monitor the temperature in the containers with sensors so that we are notified as soon as the temperature is exceeded. However, this did not happen in our test container despite the strong sunlight - we even had a few degrees of leeway.
Cooling clothing for leisure
We have tested various items of cooling clothing in our leisure time, whether it was under a motorcycle jacket when riding a motorcycle at over 30°C or under a helmet and over a T-shirt on a bike tour at 35°C. The cooling clothing keeps you cool all the time, but never too much - any worries about feeling clammy and shivering during longer breaks in the shade were completely unfounded.
Facade coating in multi-storey buildings
The housing cooperative WBG Perleberg eG had all 30 storey buildings painted with climatic coating at the beginning of the century. The result was convincing: 18-21% savings in heating energy could be proven and the facades are still in top quality today - and will continue to do so for many years to come, according to the master painter who carried out the work.
Interior coating on clay plaster
We had been struggling with moisture problems in our old farmhouse for years. Thanks to Ms. Torge's expert advice, we found a tailor-made solution. She recommended a special wall coating, the color of which was freely selectable. The indoor climate has improved significantly as the paint absorbs the moisture.
We are extremely satisfied with this sustainable solution and recommend working with Ms. Torge without reservation.
Heat protection blinds attic, Berlin
Last summer, I had 37°C in my attic apartment, and I definitely don't want to experience that again. Thanks to the new heat protection roller blinds, I'm well prepared for summer 2024; I already notice a significant reduction in heat in the rooms in spring. And even when the blinds are closed, the apartment is still bright enough.

A curtain that keeps summer heat out and heating warmth in
Our latest discovery from Japan can do just that. We now have a window solution that optimizes the indoor climate all year round while still allowing a basic level of transparency. 71% of solar heat and 90.1% of UV radiation is reflected back by the blinds. And in winter, the heat flow from the heated room through the cold [...]
Simple heat protection for containers - soon even more powerful!
Containers are not only used for transportation, but also in a variety of stationary applications - whether as storage, temporary utility or living space, for outdoor technology or other uses. Stationary containers are usually permanently outside and often unprotected against heat. In contrast, air conditioning systems are sometimes used, which consume energy and require regular maintenance in order to [...]
