Prefabricated house from the 80s

Problem

This prefabricated house from the 80s has thin outer walls and was always cool in winter. The thin walls could do little to counteract the flow of heat from warm to cold, and heating energy was lost outside. The energy crisis in the winter of 2022/23 forced the family to take drastic measures to save energy The need for warm clothing was correspondingly high, as was the energy saving: approx. 40% of heating energy could be saved in this way. But of course this was not a long-term solution.

Solution

Over the course of 2023, all rooms, the entrance and the staircase were gradually painted in different colors with ClimateCoating® ThermoPlus The aim of the coating in the house was to be able to use all rooms again with normal clothing and a feeling of well-being and yet still maintain the achieved level of savings - i.e. around 40% less energy consumption than before the energy crisis.

Result

As of today, at the end of February 2024, the family has achieved this goal with thermostat settings of 18-19°C in all rooms (19°C only on days with significantly below zero temperatures). The feeling of well-being in the rooms is good and the energy consumption is very comparable to the consumption in the previous winter.

Energiesparen mit reinen Innenmaßnahmen ist also möglich, egal ob in Wohnung, Gewerbebau oder Haus – einfach streichen, Heizung drosseln und wohlfühlen.
