The port company's transport containers in Abu Dhabi heat up extremely in the sun, which damages the materials stored in them. Refrigerated containers, on the other hand, require an extremely large amount of energy to maintain the desired target temperature.
Gesucht wurde eine Lösung zur Reduktion der Hitzelast in den Containern, um so Material, Waren und Energieressourcen
zu schonen. Der Lösungsansatz war die Rundum-Beschichtung der Container mit ClimateCoating. In einer ausführlichen Testreihe wurden die Innentemperaturen bzw. der Energieverbrauch von Containern mit und ohne ClimateCoatingBeschichtung verglichen.
The container with ClimateCoating heated up much more slowly than the standard container. At most, it was more than 10°C colder inside than in the comparison container.
The refrigerated container (target temperature of -17°C) had a significantly more uniform average temperature and required almost 15% less cooling energy than the uncoated comparison container.
